WORLD CULTURE FORUM halten wird. World Culture Forum more

»conversation with Doctor Jürgen Ohlau«
We recently had a conversation with Doctor Jürgen Ohlau, President of the Cultural Senate of Saxony.

Bild Ohlau für Newsletter

WCF: Doctor Ohlau, why are you and your partners focusing on the European city, or better stated, urban culture in Europe?

Ohlau: We have focused on the vision of the WORLD CULTURE FORUM, which is to achieve a cultural balance between science, economics, art, religion and politics, and hope to do everything in our power to initiate a global dialogue in this arena.
We want to apply these experiences to the 2nd WORLD CULTURE FORUM, with the result of a more widespread, international resonance of the WCF’s cause. Helping answer “open questions“ within local communities is a step in the right direction, as doing so will motivate the Goethe-Institute to strengthen the foundation of the WORLD CULTURE FORUM, simultaneously localizing the pertinent global issues and promoting the multifarious, cultural concerns of the 2nd WORLD CULTURE FORUM on a more global level. This, in turn, will create a stronger foundation for the next WORLD CULTURE FORUM.

»With great sympathy, the citizens of Dresden remember the Egyptian woman killed by a Russian immigrant. «
We at the WCF would like to express our condolences to her survivors, in particular to her children and her husband, whose lives will never be the same because of this wrong and hateful act. The assassination of Marwa al-Scherbiny and the resulting press reports are sound proof that we need to reestablish a healthy, cultural dialogue among the common populace, where people learn to understand each other and live in harmony. As a common human race, we cannot afford to forget that faith and family planning are a universal phenomenon, regardless of race, culture or creed.

The 2ND WORLD CULTURE FORUM in Octorber offers the perfect platform for this dialogue. Among other topics, three roundtable discussions will be held, dealing specifically with religious issues and how we might solve them.

Doctor Petra Bahr, official cultural representative of the Evangelical Church of Germany, has the following to say about her part in the discussions:

[...] These days, imagery is generated at an incredibly fast rate, turning people into martyrs and redefining basic, human conflict as part of a religious war, even when a simple solution is at hand [...] With our round of discussions, I hope to bring the culture out of the Ivory Tower and into the realm of the people. Culture is not a luxury, but rather something that affects our everyday lives. We need to instill this fact into future generations. The “balance of cultures“ is a deciding factor in shaping what is to come. [...]  World Culture Forum more

»Statement Prof. Rauhe«

Prof. Dr. Dr. Hermann Rauhe, in preparation for the round table:
"It is of utmost importance to me to bring musical arbitration as a building block for our society into focus. Managers of financial institutions and international concerns can learn a lot from music as an interrelational tool. Many questions can be answered through music, like why the cultural economic system has collapsed. By making music together, or even singing or dancing, we have to integrate ourselves into a group and establish ourselves therein. Not as egotists, nor as a network of intrigues, but rather as participants in a greater community with shared ethical norms....  World Culture Forum more

In fact we will welcome many referees from foreign countries at the 3 days of the WCF, wich alouds us to say that we have met our claims: we are an international Forum.
